JOCKEY Glyn Schofield admitted his good day at Kembla Grange yesterday was a case of being on the right horses rather than any great skill.
He scored wins in two of the four races, but it was a reflection of the miserable afternoon on a heavy track that his most fancied ride Racing Green, which started $4, dropped out to finish near the tail of the field."He blundered a couple of times on the turn and was never at home in the going," Schofield said."Forget he went around."Schofield went straight to the stewards and reported his troubles on Racing Green after the Cascade Green Maiden Handicap (1400m), and it led to the meeting being called off.He had scored on Skywyn and Megapike earlier after running third on Antilles in the opening event."The other two just loved it," he said."They had no problems with the ground but it was getting worse and worse with every race."Imported three-year-old Shadow Cabinet won the final event to be run, but even the winning jockey Jeff Penza said it was a hard slog.Shadow Cabinet was bought by trainer Chris Waller as a stayer on a trip to England and his Australian record now stands at a win and a third at Newcastle.
