GAI Waterhouse loves to start her good horses at the provincial tracks and Rock Kingdom might add his name to a long list in the Cove Financial Group Maiden Plate (1200 metres) at Kembla Grange tomorrow.

A winner of two barrier trials, Rock Kingdom should start favourite at his debut tomorrow.

Waterhouse recently used Kembla to start Fight And Defend's spring campaign and the Encosta de Lago three-year-old is in line for starts in the Cox Plate and Victoria Derby after winning at Randwick on Tuesday.

"We used the provincials to get him started and I love taking my good horses there to start with," Waterhouse said.

"It gives them confidence and gives you a chance to teach them something before they come to town.

"It's a tried and proven method and I will continue to use it."
